Day 127 / Dry Erase Week – Text-Splosion!

So, today begins my first themed week on the blog.  Dry-Erase Week.  If you’ve been following my blog it may feel like dry-erase week is all ready underway but I have really only begun work on the animation I set out to do which is this music video for my buddy Broiler’s song.  I won’t finish the song this week but it’s a project deserving of at least a week-long focus.  I hope to do more “themed” weeks in the future because for projects dealing with some kind of artistic technique you need to spend at least a few days in a row working on it in order to see any improvement.

So for todays thing I continued animation on the music video.  I only got 14 frames finished but they could be my favorite 14 frames yet.  The lyric is about to go into “english muffin pizza” so I have this little toaster oven with two english muffin pizzas flying into frame to destroy the letters in Freeze Tag.  Each frame took a while to draw and I had to look back at my previous images often just to keep track of all the rubble and it’s direction and momentum.  I hope you enjoy.

SMOKING UPDATE:  I have not been very active with updating you all on my quitting smoking progress and I’m sorry for that.  The truth is many times I tend to forget while I’m typing these things up and then I post them and realize later.  I am still struggling with it.  On Day 105, the first day of my vacation, I quit again.  I went until Day 118 and cheated.  I had one cigarette and then I threw out the pack.  Since then I have struggled and given in here and there.  I have littered the streets of Fullerton with a few full packs of Parliaments.  Not very cost effective but it’s better than having a pack on me.  I am now chewing the nicotine gum to help me curb it. I am still “not” smoking.  I’ll try to update more often.  Still fighting.

    Hey,
    Two comments:
    1) What is cooking in the microwave/toaster? Are those little mini-pizzas?
    2) Nicotine is expensive. Sometimes you can get a deal on e-bay. Also, search for “thrive”. Same stuff, but made in Canada. The difference is the packaging. It’s packaged like regular gum, which is nice. No more need to peel the paper part back and punch out the gum.

maybe this is too much info, but I swear it was easier to quit heroin 15 years ago, than it is to quit smoking. keep trying (i’m still throwing full packs away ALL the time). i even drove back and looked for a pack I threw out once. good luck to both of us.

Thanks for the comments guys. @Mike, hopefully I won’t have to buy another pack of gum but thanks for the info. @Rabbit – It’s not too much information. Thanks for the candidness. I appreciate it. I knew someone who died from heroin, it’s an ugly thing. Yep, and I have driven back as well. Not this go round but previous times quitting. No shame. Can’t get caught up in it. Just got to keep looking ahead. Good luck!
