I spent a few hours adding all the crosshatching to this.  I made a bit of a mistake on the background by making a series of straight horizontal lines.  I was hoping that the straight lines would help complement the addition of squiggly lines representing the distortion of the water behind them.  It didn’t work out.  So I decided to bring out the india ink and brushes and fill in the background completely with black.
