Tonight I tried to move pretty quick because I have a pretty busy couple of days ahead of me.  I’m going to be working some long hours tomorrow and I need to get off to sleep soon.  I chose a reference photo fairly quickly from a nearby book entitled “Movies Of The 70’s”.  The picture is of Jack Nicholson from the film “Chinatown”.

Anyways, I tried something a little different with my drawing tonight.  Usually, I will initially draw my picture out with a pencil until I feel like it’s looking good and ready for inking.  This evening I decided to draw everything from start to finish with a ballpoint pen so I couldn’t have the luxury of erasing.  If I drew a line off or ill-proportioned then I was forced to work with it.  It made for a more interesting image I think.
