Intrigued by yesterday’s drawing I thought a lot about drawing textures today. I should have given myself more time for this drawing. After a certain point I began speeding up because I have to get to bed on time tonight. The photo reference had lots of very subtle details that I in no way captured. I really just roughed the thing out, that’s all.
Many things are happening at work right now, including the fact that this coming Thursday I will be spending the night on a real life aircraft carrier out on the Pacific Ocean! I will be experiencing the tail-hook landing as well as the catapulting take-off via a C2 Greyhound. I will get to tour the majority of the carrier and watch night flight operations. I am a lucky guy.
The reason is I am going as a cameraman. I am hired to shoot the director and producer of the upcoming Disney Toon film “Planes” receive they’re tour of the aircraft carrier. I am the lucky camera guy who gets to experience things that my good friend Dietrich, who is a pilot, would give his left nut for. He is completely jealous of me right now.
So anyways, I won’t be able to post my drawings on Thursday and possibly tomorrow because there is no internet or even phone service out on the carrier. Look forward to seeing my next three drawings post all on Friday night most likely.
