Tonight I finally decided to draw a photo reference from my friend Jared’s blog.  He is currently doing a photo-series a day.  I’ve thought about using his photos for awhile but many of them are architectural or textural or have lots of straight lines, which I tend to shy away from.  It was good practice though.  It’s always good to practice free-hand drawing straight lines whenever you can.  I decided to stick with the same pencil for the whole sketch, A graphite 2B.

From now on, I’m going to start posting stats for each drawing that I do, which I think will help me judge my improvement as the year goes on.
