I stayed late at the office again, this time later then the night before. I was rushing to get everything done because I’m working on set tomorrow and I have to wake up early. Jenny invited her sister Stacy and her husband Guillaume over for conversation and drinks. They’ve been in town the last two week having traveled all the way from the south of France.
I knew that I wasn’t going to do anything complex or intensive for my creative thing. I needed to get my rest so that I could arrive on set on time tomorrow. I started this one while Stacy and Guillaume were still hanging out with us.
The inspiration for this one initially came from my experiments with displacement within Cinema 4D. I wanted to draw a three-dimensional clump of cubes.
I also wanted to finally test out this dip-pen that I bought a very long time ago. As I drew the picture I quickly got the idea that this kind of pen was going to need some getting used to.
I found it very tough to draw the clump of cubes the way I saw it in my head. I changed direction when I came to the conclusion that I wasn’t going to realize the image I wanted to create. Instead, I connected lines together to create cubes from different perspectives. At the end of the process I played around with flinging ink on the end product.
I’m not that happy with my results but what can you do. Creative thing done.
