This evening I decided to look back on some of my previous drawings and when I saw this one I thought it seemed like a good candidate to practice my watercolor on.  This time I used masking fluid over top of the snails to protect it from the background watercolor wash.  While I think this one didn’t come out terrible I really felt like the whole time it was falling apart.  I totally overpainted the background wash.  I also made the wash too similar to the color of the snails.  The only part that I felt went kind of OK was the shells.
