When I got home from work today I felt the weight of this epic print order on my shoulders. So I knew I needed to finish it tonight no matter what. So, that’s exactly what I did. I have been working on this process in peice-meal over the course of this week, sharing time with whatever my creative thing is for that night. And I’d gotten pretty far over the week but being that next week is the show I don’t have any time to waste.
The problem with doing a show based on 365 things is that even if you’re making a label, you have to make at least 365. With the pictures I am going beyond that because I feel that people need to see some pictures of the process involved. So, there are something like 400 to 500 pictures that I am going to have to get printed. Oy!
I was happy to finish the sifting and resizing by midnight. I decided to start the process of creating the labels that will accompany many of the days.
The monome layouts that you see above will be next to all the days that have videos associated to them. Each video will be a button on my 128, which will be on a podium in front of a flat-screen television. Perhaps, I’ll provide little pencils and sheets of paper for people to write down the coordinates of days that they find interesting and can go to the monome and play them.
Lastly, I started creating the actual names for each day which will be printed separately.

this is such a good, and unusual use of monome. i like that you’re going to have little cards for people to write the x, y’s on… reminds me of going to the library as a kid and writing down the call numbers.
