Day 304 / Beta Testin’

January 4th, 2011

I took the day off of work today because I knew that I was going to work the weekend.  It was quite a day.  I decided to treat June to a day on the trains which turned out to be much longer than we expected because I got on the wrong train.  We ended up in West Corona at 5:30 and June was done for the day.  She behaved well considering the delays.

After dinner I drove over to my buddy Dean’s place.  On Day 301 I got a taste of this wonderful slitscan software that was so graciously shared with me.  My way of paying back the individual who shared it with me is by beta testing it and offering any ideas that come to mind for improvements.  Well, last time I only got to spend a very short time with it so tonight I wanted to delve deeper.  If I’m going to offer helpful advice I need to play with it as much as possible to discover any quirks.

This time I tested a different kind of slitscan than on Day 301.  This technique is similar to the kind of slitscan you can see also on Day 112 and Day 150.

Below is just a short video example of what I created.  Enjoy!

Did you finally find a faster slitscan method? Nice! I see it’s on Windows?faster than the vdub filter I pointed you to a while ago? Would be cool to see this program released sometime ;)

Hi Frank, Yeah, it’s real fast. I’m quite excited about it. I hope as well that he packages it up and releases it. It’s great fun to see the results.

Thanks for the comment. Hope all is well.
