Day 201 / Giant Bubbles!!!

In an urge to get my creative thing done early enough to get to bed on time yesterday I last minute decided to make this giant bubble blower based on this Instructable.  Unfortunately, I decided to do it around dusk and I couldn’t get any bubbles out of it.  I was using this big bottle of Miracle Bubble that we had and it wasn’t working at all.

I didn’t want to post something about a bubble blower without some actual bubbles as evidence. So this morning I decided to extend my creative thing a bit and make some homemade bubble mix.  There are many recommendations for bubble mix recipes but I came across this site in the comments section of the instructable.  It’s a great site that compiles all the different bubble mixes.  I opted for the one second from the bottom, Big Bubble Magic’s Basic Secret Formula.

It is as follows:  1-part Ultra Joy Dish Soap, 8-parts Distilled Water, 1/4-parts Glycerin

I ended up using sixteen cups of distilled water, two cups of ultra Joy and one half cup of Glycerin.  I found the Glycerin at CVS finally.  It was the hardest ingredient to find.

Well, the mix worked like a beauty.  I had grandma and grandpa create them for June as I snapped some pictures.  It was awesome!

Oh yeah, if you haven’t seen this video below yet please watch.  It’s a personal goal of mine to recreate this video with some of my own friends

Bubbles are always so much fun. Nothing makes me happier than watching my son run around chasing bubbles. I’m sure he’s gonna go crazy when we do this. That video at the bottom was crazy.

  4. […] stopped by the hardware store and picked up some cotton rope and some twine.    You see, back on Day 201 / Giant Bubbles I made a large bubble blowing device.  I was inspired by the now very popular video you can watch […]
