Sorry for posting this one late.  This weekend I was pretty busy with family.  On this day, I spent most of my time futzing around with this horrible portable air conditioner, which I plan on returning as soon as I can.  They really shouldn’t call these things portable.  Sure, they have wheels on them but what with the giant air duct and the window installation and the water drainage, it’s better just to leave it where it is.

Anyways, our friends Jeff and Wendy arrived home after three weeks of vacation in Peru and Jeff had brought back some peruvian instruments.  So, it had been our plan that we would record a jam with these instruments as my creative thing.  But Just as we were about to begin I realized that I was missing a very important cable that unfortunately ruined our chances of recording anything.

So we decided to Monome-ize something.  I decided to take my music box composition from Day 110 and chop it up into bars.  Then I laid each one into it’s own row on the monome using MLR and we both jammed on it for a couple of hours.  There is something special in what the monome and MLR can do with tinkly tined instruments like the music box.

I thought I’d upload some highlights from the jam but we completely over-recorded it.  So, you can click on to the next page for a sample.
