I love a good patch that is simple but effective. This is one of my favorite patches with a twist. I had visitors over to the studio tonight so I was able to demonstrate the modular to new people which I always enjoy. I started with the patch I normally do when I have to quickly show how it works, which is:
Two tuned oscillators going through separate filters are sent to the speakers. I patch out of two offset outputs on the A-129/3 into the A-156 Dual quantizer then onto the pitch of each of the oscillators.
With this simple setup I can play with the two offset knobs to hear the musical scales playing amongst each other.
Add a touch of reverb and you’re golden.
In the video below you can see a version of this patch from tonight where I do a little solo with one of the offset knobs on the A-129/3 to create a complementary bassline to my slight filter modulation of the other oscillator. A nice sort of subtle patch.

Love this! I’m shooting a short film this summer. Can I contact you for a possible soundtrack?
