I kind of like and hate this painting, all at the same time.  I tend to usually hate all the paintings I do.  I just don’t think I’m that good at it.  Possibly, it’s because I always do watercolor and I find it very hard to use.  I just haven’t got nearly the same level of confidence in my painting skills as I have in my drawing.  I believe I may be a little too impatient for watercolor.  I don’t like to wait for it to dry.  Plus with this picture, I probably should’ve painted down some liquid frisket over my two kids and wall-mounted animals in order to allow me the ability to apply a smoother wash to the background color.

Ah well, on the plus side, I like how this image came about.  It was pretty random.  I had no idea what I was looking to draw when I began.  I just kind of scribbled it out lightly and then told myself I’d follow through with it.
