After last nights drawing, I realized that I need quite a bit of practice in the technique of cross hatching.  So, today I watched a couple youtube videos on the subject and decided to ink this pencil drawing that I drew earlier this month.

It was tough to decide which direction the hatch marks should go depending on contour of the shape.  You can see in his right hand, as a standout, of how the cross hatching is not really complementing the contour so well.

Also, I wasn’t sure how dark to go with the initial tonality.  I decided to keep things measured and kept a lot of white area left over.
