Drawing024Perspectivetest

Last night I was kind of surprised how hard it was to draw the perspective of the room in my drawing that I decided to practice perspective tonight.  I never had much interest in it as a kid.  I would often skim past those chapters in my art books.

I could’ve drawn a cityscape but I decided to try to translate the cubes of 1 and 2 point perspective tutorials into more organic shapes.  I decided to see how experimenting with perspective could help me create a natural landscape.  I think it was pretty helpful and I’ve never really used it that much before.

I think it’s interesting how perspective drawing looks so cool, but is so tedious when you’re really trying to do a good job. I guess I never got good enough for it to come naturally, but I wish it was like gesture or figure drawing.

Definitely tedious! This one wasn’t too bad but tonights drawing was much more trying, (check the next day). I bet some people have it down to a figure drawing level. I can see how it could come more naturally after enough practice.
