Day 338 / Everyday Macros

February 7th, 2011

I worked on set and got home around 11pm.  I drove home thinking I was going to do a little dry-erase animation and I felt like I had the energy for it.  When I arrived home I couldn’t find the connector to get my camera mounted on the stand.  I looked around for an alternative but as time went by the chances of getting an animation done were less and less.

I got on the computer and searched for some inspiration.  I couldn’t find any.  I think I was in the wrong frame of mind.  I kept thinking of things I’d done in the past but didn’t want to repeat myself.  I could’ve done something in Cinema 4D or a modular patch but I just didn’t want to.  I felt very uninspired.

I will admit that it can be tough to do this process when you are critical on yourself.  I don’t like to do something I’ve done before unless I’m taking it somewhere different or stretching out a little.  Sometimes, though, I just have to.

As a last minute effort I decided to simply take macro photographs of the things around me.  The things in the pictures, from top to bottom, are my hoody, an orange peel, a banana peel, the end of a banana peel, my shirt, ice cream and finally, the zipper on my hoody.
