Such a nice day. We took June to Disneyland again (we have season passes). She got to meet Woody and Jesse from Toy Story fame. It was the first time we’ve ever waited in line to meet a character. It was pretty hilarious to watch June interact with them, especially Jesse. Jesse’s her favorite character and they shared a good time together. I got some funny pictures of it all.
I had to run into the office to do a quickie thing for the Muppets and then I was back home again. I had to get out the printer for Jenny because she needed to print out her airline ticket. She’s going to be off on a little San Francisco weekend getaway with the girls. I’m working all weekend so June is going to be staying with Grandma the whole time. We’re both a little worried about how she’ll handle it.
Anyways, tonight’s creative project ended unfinished due to a printer cartridge mishap. I ran out of ink very quickly and Kinko’s was out of my cartridge. It was too late for any other place to be open.
The idea stems from this extremely cool video I saw on vimeo a long time ago. The moment I saw it I knew I wanted to do something like it. The basic concept is that you print out the frames of an animation on paper and then recapture those frames using a camera. What you get is your animation plus all the flicker and shake that stop-motion offers. On top of that you also get to film it from various angles utilizing the depth of field of your lens.
I love the way it looks. It has been a music video concept I’ve had up my sleeve for a while to film a band, print out the frames of the video and then recapture them on paper. Simple yet interesting.
Unfortunately, this project is to be continued. I only got a very short amount done but it’s deserving of another days work at least. The animation I’m using is something I created on Day 252.
I hope you enjoy this tiny snippet.
