So this evening I spent most of the night creating my slideshow presentation in Keynote for tomorrow. Tomorrow I speak at a hackerspace in L.A. called Crashspace.
It was pretty tough designing the slideshow. This is the first time anyone has asked me to speak about the blog and I didn’t know how to present it. I tried at first to select highlights from it but instead I found myself just adding everything. At times I condensed multiple days into a single slide but I felt it was better to have everything available in case there might be something interesting to say about it.
275 days is a lot of days to go through and I didn’t finish creating the slideshow this evening.
I felt like creating the slideshow wasn’t the most exciting creative thing to present for this evening. I don’t know why. Everyone I tell that too is like “why? Creating a slideshow is creative.”
So, I decided just before bed to create this random abstract shape in Cinema 4D. I threw some lights into the scene, found an interesting angle, added a semi-transparent material to it and rendered it with all the bells and whistles. It rendered overnight but never actually finished. The picture you see above is maybe 1/4th of the whole thing.

I dig it. Reminds me of Autechre’s Draft1 album cover.
Thanks Elliot!
