Day 274 / Finger-Painting

This sunday was crazy busy for me.  It was my one day off.

Christmas is getting close and Jenny and I have a short list of things we’d like to get done around the house before that time arrives.  We also have Jenny’s sister, her husband and his parents flying in from France for the holidays which is very exciting.  So, we want to make the house pretty.

Getting things done when the grandparents aren’t around to take June is a challenge.  Today Jenny simply wanted to paint a wall.  It was my job to occupy June.

I decided to work June into my creative thing today because I haven’t been posting everyday lately and I’ve gotten backed up again.  It’s a horrible habit that I really must stop.  I decided to do my creative thing during the daytime today so that I could use the nighttime for posting all my previous days.  I will try harder to get back to posting my projects by the next day after doing them.

The finger-painting was a good time.  I took June to Michael’s and I bought her some washable paints and a smock.  We took all the supplies into the backyard, laid down a piece of wood for the paper and went to town.  June was pretty cute getting all dirty in her smock.  I couldn’t take any pictures of the process because it got really messy quick.  June had some trouble concentrating on the art process but had no problems getting covered in paint herself.  I’m glad we did it.

I should also mention, I will be appearing and talking about my blog this wednesday at a hackerspace in LA called Crash Space.  I’m honored to be asked to talk.  A fellow monome user who also happens to be a member at Crash Space invited me.  I’m still unsure of exactly what I’m going to talk about.  I will try to describe what I’ve learned in doing this process.  I’ll also be bringing some of the stuff I’ve created, including the Harmonograph table.  Hopefully, I can fulfill the expectations.  You can learn more about it here.
