Day 155 / Bliptronome Pt. 2 and June’s Teepee

I got one of the Bliptronomes done last night.  I almost finished both but I ran into a few obstacles that ended up delaying my progress.

There is this little circuit board that came with the kit which allows you to connect your USB cable to it and in the instructions it says that this board belongs on the outside of the case.  That seemed like a pretty ugly solution so I had to find some other way to hide this little circuit board.

So, you know that 6pin header that I accidently soldered in the wrong place yesterday and had to go through the nasty procedure of desoldering and removing it.  Well, I had to do that again tonight. I replaced it with 6 wires that allowed the USB circuit board to sit in the space where the Bliptronics speaker used to be.  I wired up the knobs and tested it out.  Works like a beauty.  I’m pretty excited to have a monome now with four working knobs.

In other more exciting news, check out the sweet Tee Pee that Jenny made for June this weekend!  She’s been working on it with her friend Nicki for a couple of weekends and this afternoon the two of them finished it off.  It’s really beautiful and I love the way it came out.  June loves it the best though.  When she first realized that it had a door she said “wow!”.  Then she proceeded to collect all her “babies”( her dolls) and played with them inside.

Also worth noting, I have started the instructable procedure for my Ikea-hacked speakers so hopefully in the next day or two I’ll have that up and available as well.
