I’m actually not super happy with the way these both turned out. I was able to make the hand sculpture a little better with a bit of contrast adjustment but I think they both could’ve turned out better. I really liked the idea of tracing the modular but I realize that I need a smaller LED as well as a physical guide to keep my lines straight. The idea is there but the technique is still being developed. I think I’ll do a posting later where I recreate some of my favorite patches except all of the patch cables are made of light. Anyways, I didn’t have much time to do this one because I needed to get my rest for tomorrow which is going to be a long day. Possibly another all-nighter at the office.
On the smoking front I went most of the day without a cigarette but at 9pm while I was trying to cut my piece for Toy Story 3 publicity I realized that I couldn’t concentrate at all. So I’ve decided to postpone the quitting until I finish my editing duties on this film. That basically means 1 or 2 more days. This piece I’m working on is due tomorrow (hence the possible all-nighter). This is the last piece that I’ll be working on for Toy Story 3 except for one piece for the DVD but I won’t be the only editor on that and there’s more time for it as well.
The point is I know I can do it and I definitely want to do it. It’s only that I know I will go through the same thing I went through on the first week of this blog which is a few sleepless nights and a pent up energy that I can’t release. Editing these pieces requires some critical thinking and I need to be all there for the next few days. I will keep you all up to date on my progress though.
Thanks for all the support everyone!
Still looks pretty cool. If you want assistance let me know. I love light painting!
hey!
1.st of all, i love what u r doing – very inspiring.
What kin do f light did u use for statue tracing? Did you do it in one shot or several and than stitched them together?
Hey Sabina! Thanks! Actually the light I used for these was a cheap little keychain LED light that I bought at a local liquor store. It worked well for the statue but was really in the way for the modular tracing. For both of the pictures I did it in one exposure. My lens stops down to about f22 and I also had a polarizing filter which added a couple of stops as well. Thanks for checking out the blog. Say hi to Tina for me!
