Day 040 / Office Instruments Pt. 1

Today is the first day of a very busy couple of weeks.   I have three different cuts to deliver in the next two weeks so I will be at my office late into the evenings most of the time.  As an editor you go through spurts of extremely busy times and sometimes you have to work into the night. I am no stranger to the all nighter.   So all today I spent thinking about what I’m going to do for a creative project when I’m stuck at work all day.   The rule I’m shooting for is to only allow myself an hour each day if I’m staying late at the office.

So, today I started what might become a series called Office Instruments.  Since yesterdays post was about my application 64(Video)Fingers I figured a good creative thing to do around the office is collect sounds and video for later use in that app.  Maybe even sometimes create my own unique instruments from multiple office supplies gummed together somehow.  Who knows?

Anyways, tonight I recorded a pen cap, a highlighter cap,  a binder clip, the three hole punch, the paper cutter (one of my favorites), three rubberbands strapped to a music stand and plucked (which sounded really quite good) and lastly the classic ruler boinging on the desk.

Enjoy!
