It was a really nice day today.  I had a good day at work.  Such a great crew on The Muppets.  The vibe is so upbeat on set.  The person I work most closely with, the unit publicist, couldn’t be more funny or friendly.  She’s a breeze to be around and actually reminds me a bit of my sister.  But everyone on the set just appears to be having a great time.  Maybe it was just a special day, I don’t know.  But it has so far felt like a very warm and understanding environment.

In other happy news, I am officially off for the Thanksgiving holiday!  Yay!

So, todays creative thing came to me at the last minute.  I tucked Jenny into bed and fell asleep, as I have unfortunately been getting into the habit of doing.  She woke me around midnight and I wandered into the living room.  I perused the internet for awhile and suddenly remembered an image I’d seen a long time ago.  It was of money from around the world folded in such a way that the historical figure on the front of the bill looked like he was wearing a funny hat.

I googled for it and found the image in this post on the MAKE blog.  In the comments fields was a bit of history.  The 1000 note yen with the portrait of Hideyo Noguchi was one of the first and most popular origami hats to spread on these here interwebs.  The Noguchi Turban is the most popular hat but there are many variations, including the ninja Noguchi and the Noguchi sombrero.

I watched this quick how-to video on the Noguchi Turban and then pulled out whatever money I had in my wallet.  I followed the basic method I saw in the video and tried to create my own variation using the money I had.

I think they turned out pretty funny.  I tried to do more with George Washington’s hat but decided to stay with the dunce cap look.
