Day 126 / 115 Frames Down, 3209 To Go

I spent most of the day drawing.  In the past two days all I’ve gotten completed is about 5 seconds worth of animation.  At this rate, I’m looking at close to two months worth of work in order to get to the finish line.  Well, this blog might get awful boring for you if I were to do that.  So, I’m going to devote one more week to this project and after that it may become something that I come back to throughout the year.

It has already been a pretty fulfilling project to work on.  When I was about 6 years old I decided that I wanted to become an animator.  I believed that up until about high school when I found filmmaking and editing.  Well, over the past week I have truly gained a whole new level of appreciation for those animators I loved so much as a kid.  It’s truly amazing now to look at a film like Bambi, for example, with all of it’s intricate anatomy and to know what kind of talent needed to be there to accomplish it.  Amazing!

Be sure to check out the 5 second animation below.  I’m still pretty happy with it.  And it seems to me that the X-Sheet is working pretty well.  We’ll see what I can accomplish in a week.

Also worth noting:  The song that I’m animating to “Ugly Third Pick” is by my buddy The Broiler.  He recently got a bandcamp.com account and you can check out his latest work there.  His latest is a Patrick Swayze memorial album.  He’s got two teaser tracks up there at the moment. Have a listen (especially if you love Swayze).  That’s the only music he has up there at the moment but stay tuned because he plans to share his previous work soon as well, which is pretty extensive to say the least.

Enjoy!
