Day 092 / Old Speaker To New Planter

Posting this one the day after again.  Yesterday was a beautiful day.  Jenny and I took June to the flea market and it was my job to look after June.  It was fun spending the day with her and showing her around to the different vendors.  I fed her lunch on a grass hillside looking down on a Native American dance performance.  She behaved so well.  After the flea market we just took it easy at home until sundown.

An important side note,  I quit smoking yesterday as well. So far it’s been 36 hours without a cigarette.  I’ve been handling it okay so far but I didn’t get much sleep last night.  I remembered nights like this from when I initially quit at the beginning of this blog.  My body needs the nicotine so it jolts me out of bed like something crazy.  Anyways, I slept on the sofa so I didn’t have to bother Jenny with it.  Now today, as I write this, I am sleepy and not looking forward to the job I have ahead of me without cigarettes.  I have to deliver a first rough cut meant for the Toy Story 3 DVD by tomorrow.  I will report back in my next post on how everything goes.  At the very least, I’m on my way to being a full-time non-smoker.

Finally, the creative thing!  The truth is the photographs above pretty much tell the story.  I own a lot of old speakers and this is one creative way to reuse the cabinets.  I was going to paint it a color but Jenny stopped me and said it would be cooler if we stained and varathaned it.  That would bring out the details in the particle board.  So that’s what I plan to do.

Thanks for reading!
