Christmas Day.  We woke up to a phone call from my parents getting our butts out of bed.  Junie went to bed pretty late on christmas eve so it was kind of tough to get her up.  She was real grumpy.  That all changed when we finally got to grandma’s house and she saw all the family and presents.  June is almost 2 years old now but she still doesn’t quite get the whole christmas thing.  She couldn’t be bothered with the unwrapping bit.  There was plenty else around the house that was more interesting then tearing some wrapping paper.

We have two christmas events.  One early in the morning at my parents house and then one in the afternoon at Jenny’s parents.  By the end of it all I was pretty exhausted.  After we got home from all the festivities I actually spent most my time posting the previous two days on the blog.  It can take me quite awhile to write these things up and get all the photos in order.  By the time I had my previous days posted it was already around 1am.

I decided to do something fairly quick and easy.  On christmas eve, while I was doing my paper robot-monsters, I spotted this picture hanger on the back of a frame (you can see it in the first picture posted above).  I was completely taken by it because it looked to me exactly like a face you might find on a japanese vinyl toy.

I decided tonight to continue the search.  Sure enough I found all sorts of faces around the house.  None of them were quite as obvious as that picture hanger but some of them had real personality.  A few of my favorites were the clock hand, which to me looked like an italian with a mustache, and then the knob in the shower whose shadow created this very funny smile.
