Day 261 / Finishing A Dead Tree

Today I spent the whole day on set.   It was a pretty mellow day.  I spent a fair portion of the day trying to post this weekends creative things using my iphone because I didn’t have any internet access.  I typed out the posts in piecemeal throughout the day.  Posting from the iphone is a very slow process.

I feel bad not updating the blog daily on the weekends.  I wish I could do my creative projects earlier in the day more often so I could spend my night-time hours posting them.   But the truth is, I need to spend as much time with my wife Jenny and my daughter June as I can because I don’t get to see them very much with the hours that occupy me at work.

Jenny likes that I’m taking on this 365 day challenge but then again she wishes I could be around more often.  When work gets busy the creative projects become a bit of a burden.   She understands that I’ve taken it this far that I can’t just call it quits.  I can’t miss a day.  If I give up a day I’ve already lost.  At least that’s how I feel.  It’s like my smoking.   I can’t have a single smoke or I’ll break the record and probably just start smoking again.  Happily, I can say that I have not had a cigarette for nearly 150 days, I reckon.

Anyways, lately I have been feeling the weight of the blog.  I’m looking forward to the end.   It has been a real learning experience and I imagine if I make it past this current valley I may experience another great high.  But man, I can’t wait to turn my brain off for a bit when it’s over.   I think it’s possible that most challenges feel the hardest when you’re three-quarters of the way through it.

Well, tonight I decided to continue the tutorial that I fell asleep doing yesterday and boy am I glad I did.  I think the end result looks pretty realistic.   Plus I learned quite a bit about some of the more fundamental controls in Cinema 4D.
