One Creative Thing A Day

Posting a little late again because I’m cutting a time sensitive project at work at the moment.
I barely fit this one in last night. I spent the day with Jenny and June. As it turns out June has picked up my sickness. Jenny and I went to our friends Colleen and Dave’s housewarming party and got back around midnight.
I thought it would be a fairly simple project drawing up the plans for the Harmonograph, instead it turned out much harder than I expected. I started working within Cinema 4D and it quickly got too complicated so I turned to the graph paper and pencil. What started as blueprints quickly turned into a cluster of ideas.
Unfortunately, without being able to walk through The Home Depot, I can’t very well think up the best way to assemble it. I want the legs to be detachable and for the table to fold-up so I can store it and it won’t take up half the garage.
I’m concerned that the record player will be too heavy for the 3/4in. wooden dowel so I think I will be using either an anodized aluminum pool pole or a galvanized steel pipe. The steel pipe is probably heavier than need be but it comes threaded which is helpful for attaching the record player. The record player has a wonky lower half and I’m going to have to get creative with my method of attachment.
The most important thing to me with this project is that I want the final build to be strong and sturdy. I don’t want to build something that only works once or twice an then sits collecting dust. I would like to be able to pull this out a year from now and have it work just the same.
