Today I sent the footage that I captured from yesterday’s “The Sphere Arm” rig and sent it through both the horizontal and vertical sliscan procedure.  You can see the video example below.  I’m actually a little disappointed with the results.  I’m still trying to figure out what went wrong.  The wavy lines you see in some I think are the result of minute imperfections in the movement of the camera added on top of the pixel thin hairs of the cactus.  The other thing I did was I used a freeze frame at the head and tail of each shot so that the slitscan effect would have travele fully across the screen by the time the camera moves.  What that ended up creating was a hard line traveling across the screen which doesn’t look so good.  It seems that the slitscan appears smoother on objects that are larger and have less detail like the sculpture at the end rather than the cactus at the beginning.

I apologize for the delay in getting this video up.  My weekend has been very busy with taking care of the baby which has given me hardly enough time to even form a paragraph than post something with any detail.

Lastly, if you’ve downloaded the After Effects project from Day 150 I have found a problem with the 720p vertical composition and it has been fixed.  I still have yet to upload it but I need June to take a nap first.  Sorry!
