Well, Day 30 has now come and gone and a month of creative things has been checked off the list! In addition, I haven’t had even the tiniest puff from a cigarette for a month as well. So, onward and upward as far as all that goes.
Today’s creative project is another one of those ones where you realize that you’d never be doing this sort of thing if it weren’t for the goal and the blog. It’s inspired by the work of an artist named Thomas Allen. He takes pulp fiction books and cuts up the covers into three dimensional scenes. I came across his work literally a few days ago.
This is why this blog is great. If the blog didn’t exist and I saw Thomas Allen’s work, I’d be impressed and that would pretty much be it. Instead, the moment I saw Thomas Allen’s work I knew instantly it was something I was going to try.
I searched my bookshelf at home for the most dramatic cover and I found this one, Isaac Asimov’s “Eight Stories From The Rest Of The Robots”. It’s really not the greatest cover for this type of treatment and I am looking forward to visiting some used book stores in order to search for some proper pulp novels because I definitely plan on trying this one again.
